I know that you are pressed for time. You have orders to fill, products to create, packages to ship, blog posts to write, newsletters to schedule — the list goes on and on.
I also know that you’re most likely doing everything on your own. You don’t feel like you’re in a position to hire someone to come into your business and take some of the load off of your shoulders.
You might think that hiring someone and having to train them will take time that you don’t have. You might think that it’s pointless to hire someone to do things that you are perfectly capable of doing in your own business.

This is where a virtual assistant (VA) comes in. A VA is someone (like me!) that you hire to take some of the daily, tedious work off of your plate so you have more time to dedicate to the rest of your business.
Delegating things that eat up your time and energy, that you don’t enjoy doing, that keep you in the cycle of going from tedious task to tedious task is what will allow you to start feeling on top of things again.
GROWING YOUR TEAM MEANS THAT YOU CAN HAND OFF THE NECESSARY BUT TIME-CONSUMING TASKS SO YOU CAN FOCUS ON THE BIGGER PICTURE.

And while yes, there is a learning curve when you hire your VA, spending an hour training them on how to process and ship an order will save you hundred of hours when the holiday orders come flooding in.

SPENDING AN HOUR TRAINING YOUR VA NOW WILL SAVE YOU HUNDREDS OF HOURS WHEN YOUR ORDERS COME FLOODING IN.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “But Indigo! How do I know what to train them to do? What can I outsource or delegate to a VA?”
Today I’m going to show you how figuring that out doesn’t have to be a scary process at all.
Because you’re in the day-to-day life of your business, it can be hard to imagine handing daily tasks off to someone else. After all, you’ve been 100% in charge of everything for your business 100% of the time since it started.
But here’s what I want you to remember: you don’t have to delegate EVERYTHING on the first day.
This is something that I see people struggle with when they’ve just hired a VA: they dump every! single! task! on the newly hired VA at once and think everything is hunky-dory. Not only does this completely overwhelm your VA, it can lead to you being unsatisfied with them and firing them because they’re asking a million questions and trying to wrap their head around everything.
You want to ease into the working relationship with your VA, and make sure that you two are truly compatible work-wise. I would recommend starting off with 1-2 super important tasks first, seeing how those go, and then starting to increase the workload.
This approach is beneficial in two ways:
1. It lets you get the most stressful/overwhelming things off of your to-do list ASAP
2. It gets you + your new VA used to working with each other + really create a solid communication strategy
